Wearing a non-medical mask helps protect others and protect yourself! EC3D masks should be viewed as a physical barrier, which blocks the saliva droplets (spit) that may be emitted by individuals who sneeze in the proximity of the mask wearer, as well as a method to block the respiratory droplets emitted by the individual wearing the mask. It also create a physical barrier hands-mouth (For those who touches their face!)

EC3D masks are reusable. (See maintenance instructions below)

**EC3D masks are made with a copper fibre, which can actively fight bacteria, eventually destroying them in approximately 4 hours (compared to a regular surface where bacteria may remain active for up to an estimated period between 24 hours and 4 days).

How to use the EC3D mask:

1. Wash your hands;
2. Put the mask on your face making sure to cover your mouth and nose well and place the corde so that it stays in place and adheres well to your face;
3. Once adjusted and in place, avoid touching the mask and your face;
4. You must change your mask when it appears damp or humid and/or after 4 hours of intensive use (for example, if you've talked a lot);
5. To remove it : (1) wash your hands; (2) fold the mask back on itself (folded in two), and (3) remove the mask as far away from your face as possible. Once removed, put the mask immediately in the washing machine or in a plastic bag to isolate it;
6. Once the mask is removed, wash your hands immediately.

WARNING : A misused mask can become a breeding ground for germs and can cause more problems than it solves.

The EC3D mask does not consist of a particle filter and must be used according to the following recommendations for use. EC3D MASKS ARE NOT SIMILAR TO N95 MASKS OR SURGICAL MASKS AND THEY DO NOT CARRY THE SEAL OF APPROVAL OF THE NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health). Wearing an EC3D mask does not guarantee that the virus, bacteria or other diseases will not spread.

Maintenance :

Wash the mask on a regular cycle in the washing machine (hot water is strongly recommended). Dry the mask in the dryer for at least 20 minutes at high temperature (at least 80F/40C). Wash the mask after each use.

EC3D masks are reusable. The lifespan of a mask is approximately 50 uses. If the number of uses surpasses the 50 recommended uses, the mask and its copper fibre will be less effective.

We have received a preliminary report on the bacterial filtration tests of our EC3D Masks! We achieved an average of 84.4% in the test called BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency). Our mask is therefore very close to medical standards which are 95% BFE. Although our masks are not recommended for use in hospitals, their filtration capacities allow us to offer a quality mask for the general public. We can help respond to the call from Dr. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, who advises Canadians to wear a non-medical mask outside their home. This will allow front-line teams to keep medical equipment for themselves, rather than being used by the public.

The customer acknowledges having read and accepted the present protocol for the wearing, handling and manufacturing of EC3D masks prior to purchasing.

This protocol is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
